Gynecologic Cancer
Gynecologic cancers are cancers of the female reproductive system including: ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, vagina and vulva. Cancers of the uterus and ovaries are among the ten leading cancers in women. Taken as a group, gynecologic cancers will be diagnosed in over 80,000 women in the US in 2010.
Each gynecologic cancer is unique, with different signs and symptoms, different risk factors, and different prevention strategies. All women are at risk for gynecologic cancers and risk increases with age.

A gynecologist oncologist is a physician with training in obstetrics and gynecology and specialized training in the treatment of gynecologic cancers. Women who are cared for by specially-trained Gynecologist Oncologists increase their chances of successful treatment.
- State-of-the art services and technology such as the da Vinci surgical system for minimally invasive surgeries, Cyberknife Robotic Radiosurgery system for delivery of high dose radiation therapy, and peritoneal chemotherapy
- Full range of services to prevent and help with the effects of diagnosis and treatment
- Strong focus on prevention & early detection including education and community outreach programs, a high-risk clinic for those at increased risk of ovarian cancers, genetic counseling and testing services
